collex is about resources, not waste
Over the past decade consumers, governments and even businesses have become aware of their interrelated roles in developing and implementing processes and practices that maintain our environment in terms of air, water and soil quality. Collex over that period has grown from a small Australian waste manager to an innovative part of the global Vivendi Group of Companies at the forefront of environmentally sensitive techniques.

Below are a range of magazine ads designed by United Notions to raise these issues and dialogue specifically with businesses. These ads used targeted media to speak directly to a specific business audience about specific issues. Specific placement too of each appearance is always a United Notions pre-requisite. We don't just want to be there, we want to dominate that reader environment. "Donšt commit environmental suicide" was voted one of the highest impact ads the magazine publisher of Waste & Environment had seen in this market in the early 90s. Some years later we reminded Company Directors in financial press and industry magazines of their responsibility under tougher environmental legislation that had been introduced. In fact one Australian Company Director went to gaol for failing in his duty.

By year 2000 the "People, Planet and Profit" peas in the pod approach was being used to signal the green approach of Collex to Sustainable Development methods.

During this time a capability document was also developed as an integral part of Collex's corporate communications and tendering process. Entitled "Managing Waste Responsibly Today & Tomorrow" it explored through a blend of industrial icons and naive art the major waste and pollutant issues in the Australian marketplace. Inside this document Collex undertook for the first time by any waste manager in Australia, or resource recovery enterprise, a written guarantee that Collex would apply the most stringent state-of-the-art processes and practices to ISO quality standards.

A series of 9 individual services sheets were also developed for Collex as part if this package and the branding style was applied over a 7 year period for use in many million dollar tenders and later to website communications.

Niche market magazine advertising was also developed. Two examples show specific waste management services for Motel and Hotel markets. The concept for Hotels presents essential services "on tap" in a technique that positions Collex as a brand they must "taste" to meet their customer needs.
