Bruce Druery Robyn Attuell Amanda Cox
Founder and partner in United Notions, Bruce grew up in a struggling working-class family in Sydney's western suburbs. He won his way via scholarship to University and completed a Degree in Science majoring in Geophysics and a completed a Diploma in Education to broaden his work options. After several years teaching maths, science and physical education at high school he returned to his initial career choice working in the oil exploration business for Esso / Exxon. He moved into marketing via seven years with Philips, the European electronics innovator, gaining broad advertising and marketing communications experience in planning, budgeting and managing major campaigns for both consumer electronics products and industrial divisions, spending time in Philips' global network in Europe and Asia. He worked on major corporate television campaigns, including the first major mini-series TV blitz via the TEN network with Alex Haleys' Roots, achieving an all time peak rating and delivering 43 minutes of Philips ads to every person in the Australian audience for just 9 cents each. He was also involved in the multi-million dollar pioneering sponsorship of the Philips Soccer League in Australia. During his time at Philips he worked as client with major Australian agencies conducting campaigns and reviews. These included McCann Erikson, Leo Burnett, Lintas, Schofield Sherbon Baker, Darcy McManus Masius, Clemenger, Oglivy Mather... and several small agencies, so he has a keen appreciation of both sides of the agency / client relationship, perceptions, expectations and processes. In 1980 he formed his first agency... The Advertising Works, which grew rapidly under his Managing Directorship introducing one of the first internal distributed computer networks in Australia for media planning, production control and financial management. In April 1985 Bruce formed United Notions with strong creative, sales and production partners. Over the ensuing 16 years Bruce, in conjunction with Robyn Attuell as Production Director, has developed a team of talented, enthusiastic, professional communicators. UN made the transition to computer driven graphics technologies in 1990 and four years ago invested in significant training and expertise in cyber techniques forming e-notions. Bruce is a disciplined business professional with a hands-on approach, a keen sailor, community activist, traveller and conceptualiser... "A radical in a suit" is his view of himself. "I believe that humanising every piece of communication in the business process is the way to be successful by being believably persuasive," comments Bruce. contact:

Rob grew up the eldest daughter of a country small businessman in Tamworth assimilating strong ethics from her Dominican Convent schooling. Her first job was as a bank teller for the CBA and then she felt the call of the city, graduating from Alexander Mackie Teacher's College. She spent almost 10 years teaching children with special disabilities, worked creatively throwing thousands of pots as a professional potter and through a life change period joined United Notions where she applied her practical, honed, down-to-earth style to build a reliable network of trusted suppliers of exceptional quality and value. Robyn has been the person who sees the ideas of our team to physical reality into the hands of our clients and their customers. In her spare time Robyn is the President of the Paddington Society, runs a hobby business that organises food and cycling tours in rural France, she sails, is a demon on the tennis court and appreciates the finer varieties of Cabernet and Grenache. Looks can be deceiving because Robyn is a grandmum (with two 30-something sons with their own families), she supervises millions of dollars of print and electronic production each year and is a trusted confidante for our clients with seemingly impossible deadlines. The 'Mother of Production', Robyn's philosophy is being fair to people which means being organised, openly communicating and delivering beyond the expected. Ask Robyn and she can tell you if it can be done. contact:
